Cropical Paradise is no more...

Yes, we need to say a little prayer as this retreat & crop location will be greatly missed!

Basically, the two ladies that own this business needed a third partner as they both had full time jobs, plus this business. They could not find one. (Oh, if I only lived in Paducah!!)

So, they prayed and prayed. They decided to put the house on the market and, voila, it sold in 10 days. TEN DAYS!!

Needless to say, if we are looking for retreat options, we need to find another location. Cropical Paradise - you will be missed!

Slacker...

Yes, I have been slacking in my duties! So, time to catch up! :)

Operation Write Home - next deadline is Easter Cards and that is February 26th. Please bring Easter cards to our next crop (Feb 19th) so I can stuff a box full and send out.

Current needs for this project:
  • Thank You cards
  • Anniversary cards
  • Missing You cards
  • AnyHero Letters - especially from adults

Creating Keepsakes Convention - Louisville

Registration is still open on-line until February 15th. If you register to take 1-2 classes, you get a free vendor faire pass for one day. If you register for 3 or more, you get a free two-day vendor faire pass. Below is the link...

http://www.scrapandpapercorner.com/events/ckc/louisville/index.html

I will be going up Friday morning about 7:30 - 8:00am and coming back on Saturday evening (I have the late class that day!) Anyone that wants to join, please feel free!

Also, please keep in mind that this convention is not very good with the food options. I am personally going to pack a small lunch / snack bag. I'll probably bring a couple waters too. There is always the option to leave and come back, but you'll have to pay the parking fee again. Another option is to order pizza and meet the delivery driver at the gate. :)

Rebel and Ruth Jean (as noted below) are going on Saturday only. Please let us know if you would like to join us. We will discuss more at the February Crop!

Louisville CKC

For those of you that may not have heard, CKC (Creating Keepsakes Convention) is going to be back in Louisville on Feb. 26-27. Ruth Jean and I are planning on attending, just for the day, on Saturday, the 27. We'll leave pretty early that morning and not really for sure how long we'll be there (all day, I'd say). We've both got a class scheduled. The first one is scheduled for 11:10 (lLouisville time), so I'd say will leave at 8 if not a little before. This year, if you register for a class, you get into the vendor fair for free. If anyone would like to join us, that would be wonderful. We have room for 3-4 more. Just let me know if you are interested.

better late than never

So, yes, I'm WAY behind in downloading photos. But, thought it was worth sharing. My mom and I went to CKU for a fun filled weekend in May. And, YES, this is Tim Holtz (think Stickles, Distress Ink, etc.) We showed off our Cumberland Croppers tshirts and got many comments re: them. Thanks again, Michelle, for designing these shirts.
I'm pumped about a new year of cropping. Just a reminder that our next crop is Friday, January 15 beginning at 5pm in Gore Hall. I've gotten somewhat organized over the holiday and am looking forward to working on Christmas pages (even if they ARE from 2006 vs. 2009)! lol! We will put our "scrapbooking" yard sale items again. So, for any of you that have been organizing and want to bring items in to donate, please do. All proceeds go to our Cumberland Croppers group for future projects. Also, don't forget "operation write home." Please bring any cards you may have done for that wonderful project.
Happy Cropping!
